Originally built as a school in 1931, the building underwent a comprehensive renovation. Its structure is made of solid brick walls with two core walls, and the floors consist of reinforced concrete double-beam slabs.
The six-story building includes a basement and an attic, which was transformed during the renovation from an unheated space into an impressive, loft-style office area. The old roof was completely replaced, and the new attic structure was built using steel frame systems, partially clad in wood within the interiors. The attic floor was strengthened with a new steel beam structure topped with a composite slab. Structural calculations and design were carried out using FEM-based methods.
New elevator shafts were constructed inside the building, the existing stairwell was extended to the attic, and new openings were created in the core walls. The renovation also included an analysis and improvement of the building’s existing structures in terms of building physics and acoustics. The building holds a Sr-2 protection classification.
The renovation thoroughly addressed all building systems while respecting the original character of the structure. The aim was to create a modern office building that offers flexible spaces and diverse services, meeting the needs of a wide range of users and clients.
