The project involved the reinforcement of the roof structures for a production and office building constructed in the 1970s. Design work began in the summer of 2023, with implementation starting in early 2024. Nodetec was responsible for the structural design.
Project Highlights:
- The key objective was to coordinate the installation of new structures from the interior while ensuring the client’s production activities continued uninterrupted. Additionally, the building’s critical technical systems required preservation during the construction phase. These goals were achieved through tailored structural solutions and phased execution.
- Close collaboration between the client’s representatives, contractors, and designers played a vital role in the project’s success.
Structural Solutions:
- The roof’s load-bearing structures required reinforcement due to increased loads and the variable condition of the existing glulam beams.
- New steel and timber structures were introduced to significantly reduce the stress on the old glulam beams.
- The new structures also provided direct support to the old load-bearing roof decking and certain glulam beams.
- The overall lateral stability of the building was improved.
