The project involves the facade renovation of a heritage-listed building. The scope includes the following:

  • Renewal of the courtyard facade plaster,
  • Repair of the street-facing facade, and
  • Maintenance painting of the roof.

The building, completed in 1913, is part of the Forum block and holds a Sr-1 heritage protection classification in the zoning plan. The current facade structures include a three-layer plastered courtyard facade and a street-facing facade on Yrjönkatu, which features both brick and terrazzo plaster finishes, adorned with numerous decorative elements.

Nodetec Oy is responsible for construction management, structural design, and site supervision. The renovation design was completed in 2024, and the construction phase is planned for 2025.

The design process placed significant emphasis on preserving the building’s heritage value in collaboration with the City Museum. Additionally, the implementation phase considers the challenges posed by the building’s central location in Helsinki’s downtown area.
